Solar dispute consultant — 1099, commission only
The short version: This is a 1099 independent contractor position. It is 100% commission. There is no base salary, no hourly wage, no draw, no benefits, and no income promised to anyone. It means door-to-door canvassing and in-person sales. If any of that is a dealbreaker, this is not your job — and that is completely fine.
What you would be selling
Homeowners were told their electric bill would disappear, the tax credit was a check in the mail, the salesman worked for the utility. Then the bill did not go away, a filing showed up on the house, and nobody calls back. Our app reads their contracts, finds the problems, grades them, and gives the homeowner a step-by-step plan they can follow themselves or hand to a lawyer. You show them what is in their paperwork. They pay for the plan. You earn a commission on that sale.
What the day looks like
Knock doors where solar was sold hard. If they are happy with their system, thank them and move on. If they are not, sit at the kitchen table, run the intake, photograph the papers, let the analysis run, show the free review, sign the agreement on your phone, and take payment. Before you leave: their workbook is built by our back office and emailed to them automatically. Remote closes by text link work too.
What you get
The full app, free — you never pay us anything. A short training before you knock a single door. Every word you need, built into the app. Commission paid through Stripe to your bank, visible in the app in real time.
What we require
18 or older and able to work as an independent contractor in the U.S. Reliable transportation and a smartphone. Follow the app language on anything legal — never tell a homeowner what their rights are, never use banned conclusory words, never promise an outcome. Treat people decently: most are older, and many are scared about their house.
How you get paid
Commission on every sale you close that the homeowner pays for. Your exact rate is in your contractor agreement, which you see before you knock a door. Commissions are held until the homeowner’s cancellation window closes, then released. We do not state what you will earn. Some contractors will make nothing. There is no guarantee of any earnings. You set your own hours and pay your own taxes, vehicle and phone. A W-9 is required before your first payout.
